Claire Beaumont (Ph.D., Educational Psychology)


Claire Beaumont is Full Professor at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Laval University, Québec, Canada). She is also the Research Chair Wellbeing in school and violence prevention (www.violence-ecole.ulaval.ca). She was on the founding committee of the International Observatory on School Violence; general secretary of the Observatory for 10 years;, and cofounder of the Canadian Observatory on Violence Prevention. Her research focuses on the evaluation of the school violence, the school staff training to create positive school climate, prevent and reduce violence, to promote positively students with socio-emotional disorders, collaborative practices and peer support systems in school. Professor Beaumont firmly believes that to teach children how to live well together, adults must first demonstrate to them in their everyday actions.
