Michael Kyrios

Professor Mike Kyrios is an internationally recognized clinical psychologist who holds the position of Vice-President and Executive Dean of the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work. Throughout his career, Professor Kyrios has undertaken a range of academic, practice, professional and administrative roles, and currently also holds adjunct positions at the Australian National University, the University of Melbourne and Swinburne University. Encompassing the biopsychosocial spectrum (inclusive of behavioral, cognitive, neuropsychological, developmental and self-based conceptual frameworks and methodologies), his wide-ranging research focuses on a range of psychiatric issues. Professor Kyrios has published extensively, sits on a range of national and international editorial and review committees and is a prolific presenter to conferences in Australia and internationally in his areas of expertise. He was Scientific Chair for both the 2010 International Congress of Applied Psychology and 2016 World Congress of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. Awarded the 2013 Ian M Campbell Memorial Prize in Clinical Psychology and 2011 Citation for Excellence, Society for General Psychology, Professor Kyrios has received $21.6 million in grant funding during his career. Professor Kyrios has contributed significantly to professional bodies, inclusive of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and Australian Association of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (AACBT). He was APS President (2014-2016) and National Chair of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists (2004 -2006). He has also contributed to a variety of community and consumer groups throughout his career and has been a consultant to various government bodies on matters relating to his areas of expertise.
